The TC4428A is a 1.5A dual high-speed MOSFET driver with one inverting and one non-inverting output, designed for switch mode power supplies, line drivers, and pulse transformer drive. It operates from a 4.5V to 18V supply and drives 1000pF capacitive loads in 25ns typical rise and fall times. The devices feature matched rise, fall, and propagation delay times of 30ns typical, low output impedance of 7Ω, and latch-up protection capable of withstanding 0.5A reverse current. Inputs tolerate negative voltage down to -5V and are ESD protected up to 2kV. It is available in 8-pin MSOP and 8-pin 6x5 DFN-S packages, with the DFN-S variant including an exposed thermal pad for improved heat dissipation. The device meets AEC-Q200 qualification and is RoHS compliant.
The TC4426A/4427A/4428A are improved versions of the earlier TC426/427/428 family of buffer/drivers (with which they are pin compatible). They will not latch up under any conditions within their power and voltage ratings. They are not subject to damage when up to 5V of noise spiking (of either polarity) occurs on the ground pin. They can accept, without damage or logic upset, up to 500mA of reverse current (of either polarity) being forced back into their outputs. All terminals are fully protected against up to 4kV of electrostatic discharge. As MOSFET drivers, the TC4426A/4427A/4428A can easily switch 1000pF gate capacitances in under 30nsec, and provide low enough impedances in both the ON and OFF states to ensure the MOSFET's intended state will not be affected, even by large transients.
