The PM5326-FGI is a dual SONET/SDH framer and aggregator designed for OC-48 and OC-192 applications, offering an aggregate capacity of 20 Gbit/s. Each framer can be independently configured to support one STS-192/STM-64 stream or four STS-48/STM-16 streams. It features two OIF SFI-4 interfaces for direct connection to SERDES and CRU/CSU devices, and supports up to eight STS-48/STM-16 streams in nibble mode. This device provides extensive overhead processing capabilities, including the termination and monitoring of SONET/SDH Section, Line, and Path overhead, as well as automatic detection of traffic configuration changes. It supports Automatic Protection Switching (APS) with K1/K2 byte filtering and BER monitoring, and allows for centralized control of SONET/SDH processing through in-band status messaging. The PM5326-FGI is packaged in a 1292-pin FCBGA and operates with a low power 1.2 V core, compatible with 2.5/3.3 V I/O. It is suitable for applications such as Multi-Service Provisioning Platforms (MSPP), Sub Wavelength Cross Connects, and Add/Drop Multiplexers.
