The MCP98243-BE/MC is a digital temperature sensor designed for memory module thermal management, compliant with JEDEC specifications JC42.4-TSE2002B3. It operates within a temperature range of -40¬8C to +125¬8C and offers varying accuracy levels: ¬±0.2¬8C/¬±1¬8C from +75¬8C to +95¬8C, ¬±0.5¬8C/¬±2¬8C from +40¬8C to +125¬8C, and ¬±1¬8C/¬±3¬8C from -20¬8C to +125¬8C. The device features a 2-wire I¬=C/SMBus interface, allowing for easy integration into existing systems, and supports multiple devices on a single bus. The MCP98243 includes a 2 Kbit EEPROM for Serial Presence Detect (SPD), which can store vendor and product information, with options for permanent and reversible write protection. The sensor is available in multiple package types, including DFN-8, TDFN-8, UDFN-8, and TSSOP-8. Typical applications include DIMM modules for servers, PCs, and laptops, as well as general-purpose temperature data logging. The operating voltage range is from 2.7V to 5.5V, with a typical operating current of 200 ¬µA.
