The MCP9601-E/MX is a thermocouple EMF to temperature converter designed for high accuracy temperature measurement. It features integrated cold-junction compensation and supports multiple thermocouple types including K, J, T, N, S, E, B, and R. The device offers a maximum accuracy of ¬±1.5¬8C and a typical accuracy of ¬±0.5¬8C for the hot-junction temperature. It provides a measurement resolution of 0.0625¬8C for both hot and cold junctions. The MCP9601-E/MX includes programmable temperature alert outputs that can monitor hot or cold junction temperatures, detect rising or falling temperatures, and allow for up to 255¬8C of programmable hysteresis. It also features integrated open-circuit and short-circuit detection for enhanced reliability. The device operates on a voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V with a typical operating current of 300 ¬µA and a shutdown current of 2 ¬µA. Communication is facilitated through a 2-wire I¬=C interface, supporting up to eight devices on a single bus. The MCP9601-E/MX is packaged in a 20-lead MQFN format, making it suitable for various applications including industrial equipment thermal management, hand-held measurement devices, and commercial ovens.
