The MCP3901A0-I/SS is a dual-channel Analog Front End (AFE) featuring two synchronous sampling Delta-Sigma Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs) with 16/24-bit resolution. It offers a high performance with specifications including 91 dB Signal-to-Noise and Distortion Ratio (SINAD), -104 dBc Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), and 109 dB Spurious-free Dynamic Range (SFDR) for each channel. The device supports a programmable data rate of up to 64 ksps and operates with low power consumption, typically 14 mW at 5V, and includes an ultra-low power shutdown mode consuming less than 2 ¬µA. The MCP3901A0-I/SS is equipped with a high-gain programmable gain amplifier (PGA) on each channel, capable of up to 32 V/V gain, and features a low drift internal voltage reference with a temperature coefficient of 12 ppm/¬8C. It provides excellent crosstalk performance at -133 dB between channels and includes phase delay compensation with 1 ¬µs resolution. The device interfaces via a high-speed 20 MHz SPI compatible serial interface and supports independent analog and digital power supplies. This AFE is suitable for applications in energy metering, automotive, portable instrumentation, and medical power monitoring, and is available in a compact 20-lead SSOP package. The operating temperature range is industrial, from -40¬8C to +85¬8C, with an extended option available up to +125¬8C.
