The KSZ9021RL is a fully integrated Ethernet Physical Layer Transceiver that supports triple speed operation at 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, and 1000Base-T. It features a Reduced Gigabit Media Independent Interface (RGMII) for direct connection to RGMII MACs, enabling data transfer rates of 10, 100, and 1000 Mbps. The transceiver includes on-chip termination resistors for differential pairs and an LDO controller for a simplified power supply design, requiring only an external MOSFET to generate the 1.2V core voltage from a 3.3V supply. Diagnostic capabilities include Micrel LinkMD¬Æ TDR-based cable diagnostics for identifying faulty cabling, as well as loopback modes for testing both analog and digital data paths. The device supports jumbo frames up to 16KB and features automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover, making it versatile for various networking applications. It is available in a 64-pin E-LQFP package and operates within a temperature range of 0¬8C to +70¬8C. Applications include network printers, NAS devices, and routers, among others.
