The KS8001S-TR is a single-chip physical layer transceiver designed for 10/100BASE-TX and 100BASE-FX applications. It operates at a voltage of 1.8V with a power consumption of 250 mW, making it suitable for low-power applications. The device supports robust operation over standard cables, with a range exceeding 130 meters. This transceiver is compliant with the IEEE 802.3u standard and features auto-negotiation capabilities for 10/100 Mbps speeds and full/half-duplex modes. It supports various interfaces including Media Independent Interface (MII), Reduced MII (RMII), and Serial MII (SMII). The LinkMD® feature allows for cable length determination and fault diagnosis with an accuracy of ±2 meters. Additional features include HP MDI/MDI-X auto crossover, programmable LED outputs for link status and activity, and built-in analog front-end filtering for both 100BASE-TX and 10BASE-T. The device is available in 48-pin LQFP and 48-pin SSOP packages, and it includes a power-down mode for energy efficiency.
