The JANTXV2N3499UB/TR is part of the 2N3498 through 2N3501 series of military-qualified NPN silicon transistors for high-reliability and medium-power applications. It is housed in a U4 surface-mount package with hermetically sealed Kovar base and nickel cap, and has a maximum collector-emitter voltage of 100 V and collector current of 500 mA. The device features a thermal resistance junction-to-case of 30 °C/W and operates over a junction temperature range of -65 to +200 °C. It meets MIL-PRF-19500/366 qualification at the JANTXV level and is RoHS compliant in commercial grade variants. The part has a minimum current gain (hFE) of 35 at 1 mA and 75 at 10 mA, with a collector-emitter saturation voltage of 0.2 V at 10 mA base drive.
