Microchip Technology, Inc. LIN System Basis Chip Including Voltage Regulator en558481

Description
The MCP2025 provides a bidirectional, half-duplex communication physical interface to an automotive and industrial Local Interconnect Network (LIN) and SAE J2602 bus. Operation covers LIN Bus Specification Versions 1.3, 2.0, 2.1 and SAE J2602. The device incorporates a voltage regulator with 5V/70mA or 3.3V/70mA output. The regulator is short-circuit protected and also includes thermal shutdown. The regulator has been specifically designed to operate in the automotive environment and will survive reverse battery conditions, +43V load dump transients and double-battery jump starts. The device has been designed to meet the stringent quiescent current requirements of the automotive industry. The devices' very low emissions, excellent robustness to automotive transients and very high ESD robustness have been confirmed by independent test authorities. Please consider this device ATA6625, ATA663231, ATA663254 Additional Features Similar to the MCP2021A product family but in a more industry standard pinout Physical Layer Transceiver interface to support LIN Bus Specifications Version 1.3, 2.0, 2.1 and SAE J2602 Integrated 3.3V or 5.0V Vreg with output current of 70mA and current limit greater than 250mA ESD performance on Vbb & LIN pins > 15KV (IEC 61000-4-2) Meets stringent auto requirements including “OEM Hardware Requirements for LIN, CAN and FlexRay Interfaces in Automotive Applications”, Version 1.2, March 2011 Typical powerdown current < 4.5uA MCP2025 available in 8-pin PDIP, SOIC and DFN packages MCP2025-330 with 3.3V regulator MCP2025-500 with 5V regulator Extended temperature range: -40°C to +125°C
