Microchip Technology, Inc. EMC1824 4 channel 1.62V - 3.6V temp sensor EMC1824

Description
The EMC1824 is a 1.8V, 4 channel, high accuracy, 2-Wire (I2C compatible) temperature sensor. Advanced features such as Rate of Change, Shutdown, Resistance Error Correction (REC), Beta Compensation (to support CPU diodes requiring the BJT/transistor model), and Ideality Configuration combine to provide a robust solution for complex environmental monitoring applications. The EMC1824 monitors is the first device family to introduce rate of change functionality. This data, in addition to the temperature itself, facilitates a preemptive system f. This type of data can help customer better regulate their applications to control temperature. A resistor selectable shutdown protects against brown out. Resistance Error Correction automatically eliminates the temperature error caused by series resistance allowing greater flexibility in routing thermal diodes. Beta Compensation eliminates temperature errors caused by low, variable beta transistors common in today's fine geometry processors. This frees the user from providing unique sensor configurations for each temperature monitoring application. These advanced features plus ±1° measurement accuracy provide a low-cost, highly flexible and accurate solution for critical temperature monitoring applications. For product comparison, please consider: EMC1814 Additional Features Measures 4 temperatatures Local temperature accuracy of +/-1C max from -40C to 125C Remote temperature accuracy of +/-1C max on -20C to 125C Ta, -40C to 125C Tdiode Temperature Resolution 0.125C Configurable allert pins Operating voltage 1.62V to 3.6V Temperature range -40C to +125C Other Features Auto-Beta compensation Configurable Ideality Factor Resistance Error Correction Hottest diode compare Typical Applications Temperature Sensitive Storage Industrial Portable electronics Handheld gaming Computing Food Storage
