The Microchip 34AA02/34LC02 is a 2Kbit Electrically Erasable PROM designed for a wide operating voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V. It features a 2-wire I2C compatible serial interface and supports clock frequencies of up to 1 MHz. The device includes permanent and resettable software write-protect options for the lower half of the memory array, as well as hardware write protection for the entire array. It is organized as a single block of 256 x 8-bit memory and offers a typical page write time of 3 ms with a 16-byte page write buffer. This EEPROM operates with low power consumption, with a read current of 1 mA and a standby current of 100 nA. It is rated for more than 1 million erase/write cycles and has a data retention capability exceeding 200 years. The device is available in multiple package types, including 8-lead PDIP, SOIC, TSSOP, MSOP, TDFN, and a 6-lead SOT-23 package. It is compliant with RoHS standards and is suitable for industrial and automotive applications, with an extended temperature range of -40¬8C to +125¬8C.
