The XRT72L71IQ is a DS3 ATM User Network Interface (UNI) and Clear-Channel Framer designed for both public and private network applications. It operates at DS3 rates and provides the necessary ATM Physical Layer interface, supporting various functionalities including the transmission and reception of user data via DS3 payload bits. This device features compliance with UTOPIA Level 1 and 2, supporting bus speeds of up to 50 MHz with 8 or 16-bit interfaces. It includes on-chip FIFOs for both transmit and receive directions, as well as OAM cell buffers for efficient management of operations and maintenance cells. The XRT72L71IQ supports multiple framing formats, including M13 and C-Bit Parity, and offers loop-back capabilities for local, remote-line, cell, and PLCP testing. The product operates on a low power supply of 3.3V and is input tolerant to 5V, packaged in a 160-pin PQFP format. It is suitable for applications such as ATM switches, ATM concentrators, DSLAM equipment, and DS3 frame relay equipment. The operating temperature range is from -40¬8C to +85¬8C, making it versatile for various environmental conditions.
