The XR3086XEDTR-F is a high-performance RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for robust operation in noisy industrial environments. It features a fault tolerance of ¬±18V on analog bus pins and offers enhanced ESD protection, rated at ¬±15kV for air gap discharge and ¬±8kV for contact discharge. The device provides a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) that is 40% higher than standard RS-485/422 devices, which allows for improved communication over longer cable lengths. This transceiver supports data rates up to 20 Mbps and operates within a supply voltage range of +4.5V to +5.5V. It includes fail-safe circuitry that guarantees a logic-high output under various fault conditions, such as open or shorted inputs. The receiver input impedance is a minimum of 96kOc, enabling the connection of up to 256 devices on the bus without compromising signal integrity.
