The SP3497EEN-L is a high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transceiver designed for bidirectional communication on multipoint bus transmission lines. It operates from a single +3.3V power supply and supports data rates up to 32 Mbps. The device features robust +/-15kV ESD protection, ensuring reliability in harsh environments. It includes advanced fail-safe receiver inputs that default to a logic high state when inputs are unconnected or shorted, enhancing system robustness. The transceiver has a half unit load, allowing up to 64 devices to be connected on the bus without signal degradation. It incorporates driver short circuit current limiting and thermal shutdown to protect against overload conditions.
