Maryland Brush Company, Inc. R14120SC, 14 Inch Pittex Ring Section 40092

Description
Pittex® sections are used for deburring, surface refining, flash removal and edge cleaning and breaking, and can also be used on wood for sanding. Pittex® filaments are also available in other brush constructions (i.e., wide face, scrubbers, end brushes, cups, etc.) Pittex® Filament Power Driven Brushes Pittex® filament brushes employ an abrasive nylon fill material that is heavily impregnated with either Silicon Carbide or Aluminum Oxide grit, in grit sizes from 46 to 600. The Pittex® filament is adaptable to a variety of applications. Requiring relatively little work pressure, Pittex® filaments provide long brush life and are resistant to water solvents, most acids and alkalies. Flexibility is the principal reason why Pittex® filament brushes offer so many advantages over other tools such as wire wheels, belts and pads that are used for stock removal, polishing or finishing. Pittex® filaments have a self-restoring face. Their flexible material conforms to irregular surfaces and flexes over sheet ends or other projections without breaking, shredding or tearing. As the Pittex® filament brush moves against the workpiece, the cutting edges of the grit make positive contact because the flexible filaments bend at all angles to fit the contours of the work surface. This positive contact is assured since the grit is uniformly dispersed not only on the filament surface but also throughout the entire cross section of the filament. This assures a longer brush life and consistent cutting action and finish over the life of the brush. Magnified view of typical Pittex® filament (above right) and filament without grit (below right). Note how the grit is dispersed, not only on the surface, but also throughout the entire Pittex® filamen —assuring positive contact with the work surface during brushing operations. R14120SC, 14 inch Pittex Ring Section, 14 inch x 1/2 inch x 5-1/4 inch AH, .040-120 SC
