LPKF Laser & Electronics North America PCB Milling Machine for Advanced Applications ProtoMat S103

Description
The ProtoMat S103 is the premier system in the LPKF S-Series line of printed circuit board milling machines with a 9” x 12” working area and is recommended for softer PTFE based RF and microwave materials. It is capable of processing advanced PCB applications with ease thanks to system features such as optical fiducial recognition and milling resolution of 0.002 mils. The ProtoMat S103 works straight from CAD data to process boards. Standard features unique to the system include a vacuum table for reworking damaged PCBs and securing delicate or flexible materials, as well as a non-contact depth limiter, or air-foot, which ensures nothing comes in contact with the board material but the tool. This feature is especially useful for those working with RF and microwave designs. With a 100,000rpm spindle motor, 4 mil traces and spacing are common on a wide range of materials with drill holes as small as 6 mil; smaller features may be possible dependent on tooling, copper thickness, substrate type and peel strength. The ProtoMat S103 also includes software controlled 2.5D milling for pocket milling and cutting or drilling of aluminum, brass, copper and plastics allowing for metal core PCB development. Solder paste dispensing is also a standard feature if a clean/dry compressed air supply is provided. Software Package LPKF CircuitPro software is included with easy to follow processing guide wizards and updated GUI. This simplifies the process of arriving at a completed design with the machine prompting the operator during each milling, drilling and cutting stage. A comprehensive parameter library for many commonly used materials supports the users in their own projects.
