The MSM420W6 is a solid-state delay-on-make time relay with a fixed 20-second delay, designed for 120VAC operation. It features standard wire leads 6.0 inches (152.4 mm) long and is suited for printed circuit board or bracket-mounted installation. The relay has a solid-state output with a maximum load current of 0.5A at 25°C and 0.25A at 60°C, and immediate reset occurs upon removal of input power. The device is totally encapsulated, offers ±5% repeat accuracy, and operates within a temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. It is reverse polarity protected for DC variants and meets a dielectric breakdown rating of 2000V RMS input to mounting surface.
The MSM replaces bi-metal type timing with reliable solid-state circuitry. There are no moving parts to arc or wear. It is a cost effective solution for OEM designers. It is available for printed circuit board mounting or surface mounting with a removable bracket and wire leads. The MSM offers immediate reset on removal of power. Operation (Delay-on-Make)The time delay begins upon application of input voltage. The output is de-energized before and during the time delay. At the end of the time delay, the output energizes and remains energized until input voltage is removed.Reset: Removing input voltage resets the time delay and output.
