Acetal is a semi-crystalline engineering thermoplastic material, with a continuous use temperature range of up to 180° F (82° C).
Acetron® (M) is family of copolymer and homopolymer acetals with greater dimensional stability than polyamides despite having a lower wear resistance. Special formulations include an enhanced bearing grade material, a metal- and x-ray-detectable acetal, food-contact compliant acetals, and a range of colors.
Acetal is characterized by a low coefficient of friction and good wear properties, and offers especially low moisture sensitivity in wet environments. It also offers good electrical properties and resistance to a wide range of chemicals including many solvents. Offers a range of excellent performance attributes including high mechanical strength, stiffness, and hardness, great resilience and resistance to creep, high impact strength at low temperatures, low water absorption for great dimensional stability, and food-contact compatibility.
Used in a wide variety of industrial applications where strength, toughness and low moisture absorption are required. Ex: Mechanical gears, electrical components, automotive products, sports equipment, medical products, food equipment, hardware, construction tools.
