CONFIRM anti-Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is directed against both free and bound human prostate specific antigen (PSA). PSA is a 33-34 kD chymotrypsin like serine protease (kallikrein family) specifically expressed by prostate epithelium. PSA is presentin the cytoplasm of benign and malignant prostate epithelium. It is useful for identification of adenocarcinoma of the prostate in metastatic sites and for differentiating prostate adenocarcinoma from urothelial carcinoma.
