L-com, Inc. In-Wall Electrical Box Mount 10/100 Base CAT5 Lightning Surge Protector WPCAT5

The WPCAT5 is an indoor lightning and surge protector which provides protection for CAT5 data applications. The unit is fully compatible with industry-standard Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices and 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks, providing protection to both Ethernet data pairs as well as the PoE DC power feed. The unit supports both modes A and B of the 802.3af standard for of supplying DC power. Power can be fed up the CAT5 data pairs, 1-2, 3-6 or using the two unused pairs, 4-5, 7-8. This lightning surge protector is compatible with Cisco legacy network appliance products like Access Points, DC Injectors and other equipment supporting reverse polarity PoE pinouts. Electrical Box Mount The WPCAT5 features a brushed stainless steel wall plate designed to mount to standard in-wall electrical/conduit boxes. This protector is ideal for use in homes and offices with existing in-wall Ethernet wiring. A ground lug is provided directly on the protector and mounting screws are included. EMI Noise Suppression The WPCAT5 features shielded RJ-45 jacks. This along with the stainless steel wall plate helps reduce the effects of EMI interference.
