ProSource® Light Source Analysis Software from Radiant Vision Systems enables detailed analysis of luminance and color as a function of angle for light sources and lighting systems. It supports the generation of highly accurate spectral and photopic ray sets, which can be exported to various optical design software, including OpticStudio, Zemax, and LightTools. The software utilizes the compressed Radiant Source Model (RSMx) format, allowing for smaller file sizes and reduced simulation times while maintaining measurement accuracy. ProSource® facilitates the creation of IES and EULUMDAT files and computes Unified Glare Rating (UGR), making it suitable for comprehensive lighting design applications. It offers extensive user control over ray generation parameters and supports the generation of up to two billion rays, enhancing simulation detail. The software is compatible with multiple illumination design packages, providing flexibility for optical system designers. System requirements include Windows® 10 (64 bit) and 16-32 GB RAM.
ProSource®enables optical system designers to fully exploit Radiant Source Model files (RSMs) of light sources and lighting systems. RSMs are the most accurate method for describing the near-field output of real light sources in optical and illumination design software because they contain full measurement information, including luminance images, from all viewing angles for the light source or lighting system. This provides full flexibility in analysis and in ray set generation.
When paired with a near-field measurement system or Source Imaging Goniometer®, the measurement data collected by ProSource® is formatted as an RSM file. This file contains all of the light source measurement information including the image data, so the measurement results can be reviewed in detail at any time. In addition, ray sets containing an arbitrary number of rays can be generated by ProSource for export to other optical and illumination system design software packages such as ASAP®, FRED®, LightTools®, LucidShape®, Photopia, IES TM-25, Opticad®, OSLO®, SimuLux®, SPEOS®, TracePro®, and OpticStudio (ZEMAX), as well as general file formats. Ray sets generated by ProSource from RSMs are more efficient than random Monte Carlo-generated ray sets as they contain equivalent information with only 20% of the number of rays - resulting in faster optical design analysis times with higher accuracy.
