Knight Optical supply a range of Rhomboid prisms from stock that cover the UV visible and NIR range. Rhomboid prisms displace a light beam laterally and in effect represent a pair of single mirrors. Generally the reflecting faces of Rhomboid prisms are uncoated and rely on Total Internal reflection. Rhomboid prisms can be coated to increase the angular range over which the prism will work but this will increase the losses.

We supply high quality reflecting prisms, typically, but not necessarily made of BK7, which rely on total internal reflection in order to move a light beam. Our prisms can be supplied in varying sizes; more specifically our rhomboid prisms can be coated to your need in order to increase the angular range over which the prism will work.

Every Custom rhomboid prism is rigorously inspected in our state-of-the-art Metrology lab, using our Trioptics Prism Master which is capable of measuring to tolerances of ±3 arc seconds.
