The SG-MLF-7004 is a GHz QFN/MLF socket designed for high-speed applications, featuring a solderless connection that directly mounts to a target PCB using bolts and nuts. It requires specific tooling holes for installation and has a minimum real estate requirement. The socket utilizes a reliable elastomer connection, with a compression plate that evenly distributes forces and an IC guide to prevent over-compression of the elastomer. The socket lid is easily removable and made from black anodized aluminum, while the base and compression plate are also constructed from anodized aluminum. The elastomer consists of gold-plated brass filaments arranged in silicone rubber, ensuring effective electrical connectivity. Recommended torque for installation is 1.0 in. lb. The socket is suitable for various MLF package sizes, making it versatile for different applications.
GHz QFN sockets provide 10 GHz bandwidth in a small cost effective ZIF socket for prototype and test applications. The GHz QFN socket is a simple mechanical socket based on an elastomer connector technology. The GHz QFN socket is a solder-less socket
that can be directly mounted onto a PCB using bolts and nuts. PCB should have mounting and alignment holes at proper locations (see pages 2 and 3 of the drawing for recommended PCB layout information). Typical GHz QFN socket is 5mm larger
than the maximum IC size.
