Polyester banding offers the benefits of strength and split resistance that polypropylene banding cannot provide. Extruded polyester lacks the high tension recovery that nylon provides and the break strength of steel, but it is available in more specifications than the nylon and is often more cost-effective than steel. If manual tools are used with extruded polyester, serrated seals must also be used.
