IHS ESDU CFD Benchmarks for predicting pressure loss and flow characteristics. Incompressible flow in sudden contractions. CFD-BMK 07009

This CFD Guide provides reliable benchmark data for the validation of CFD predictions in circular pipes with sudden contractions in incompressible flow. Input geometrical and flow parameters for sharp-, round-, and chamfer-edged contractions are provided for defining four CFD Benchmarks. Comparisons with ESDU CFD predictions performed using ESDU methodology are presented.
