ESDU 87010 tabulates density and molar volume for 50 alkanes (in units of kg/cu m and cu cm/mol respectively) at 10 K intervals from near the normal melting point to within a few degrees of the critical point. The data were obtained by fitting an equation to experimental data for density for each compound taken from a wide range of sources in the literature; values established for the constants in the equation for each compound are also tabulated. Estimates of the accuracy of the predictions are included.
