IHS ESDU Stress concentrations: interaction and stress decay for selected cases. 85045

Description
ESDU 85045 discusses the decay of stress from a stress concentration and explains how knowledge of the decay from an individual stress raiser can be used to determine the likely interaction between two similar features. Data are presented on the decay of stress from an elliptical hole in a flat plate loaded either uniaxially or biaxially. Stress concentration factors are also presented for a pair of equal circular holes in a finite width plate loaded uniaxially transverse to the axis of the holes; the data relate to points on the edges of the holes on either end of the diameters transverse to the load. Stress concentration factors are also given for a series of notches in the edge of a plate loaded parallel to the notched edge.
