ESDU 83035 is accompanied by a program (ESDUpac A8335) for estimating the data that are particularly relevant to multilayered laminates having fibre-reinforced composite layers, but are equally applicable to plates having a combination of isotropic material and composite material layers, or sandwich panels having composite-material laminated face plates. The plate elastic properties generated are those required for the strength, or stability analysis, of thin laminated plates that can be treated as orthotropic plates. A procedure for the estimation of the individual fibre-reinforced composite laminate elastic properties, from the properties of the fibre and matrix materials and their relative volumes, is provided in the form of equations and graphs. This procedure is also incorporated in the computer program. Practical worked examples illustrate the use of the data.
