ESDU 82022 presents the analysis of approximately 440 fatigue tests on steel lugs subjected to constant amplitude loading applied by a single central clearance-fit pin. The steels include 2%Ni-Cr-Mo, 1%Cr-0.55%Mo-18%Ni maraging steel and FV520B ferritic stainless steel. The effect of pin fit and lug size are examined in addition to mean stress effects. Data are also provided on some types of treatment and/or lubrication of the lug bore.
