IHS ESDU Geometrical characteristics of typical bodies. 77028

Description
ESDU 77028 gives surface area and volume (non-dimensionalised with the appropriate characteristic of the enclosing cylinder), nose (or tail) radius of curvature and half angle for a number of typical axisymmetric shapes including the von Karman ogive, the Lighthill profile, tangent ogive, power law and ellipsoid. Also given are surface areas and volumes for certain truncated bodies. Methods of adapting the data for use with bodies whose cross-sectional shape is non-circular are suggested, including rectangular, elliptical, and rhombic cross-section shapes.
