IHS ESDU Fatigue of longitudinal fillet welded attachments and joints in steels under axial loading. 76007

Description
ESDU 76007 gives graphs showing fatigue data, extracted from a wide range of sources in the literature, plotted as alternating stress against endurance for specimens tested in the as-welded condition. Stiffener configurations are symmetrically placed on either side, or across the top and bottom as flanges, or asymmetrically placed on one side; in all cases the weld is not loaded directly. Data are also given for loaded joints either with symmetric straps or of the egg box type. Lines of 99 per cent confidence are superimposed on the graphs. The location of failure is discussed.
