For panels under unit uniform pressure, ESDU 67029 provides ratios of nominal stress in a reinforced panel to the nominal stress at a rivet line in an unreinforced panel. The ratios are given for the reinforced panel nominal stresses at both the rivet line and at the edge of the reinforcement. Data are provided for a range of ratios of reinforced panel thickness to panel thickness, and a range of ratios of reinforcement widths to panel width. Typical panels to which these data are applicable are those that are chemically etched (or machined) from plates, or those to which additional plate material is bonded around the panel edges. These data are primarily intended for use with ESDU 72005 in the calculation of r.m.s. nominal stress under random acoustic loading.
