IHS ESDU Subsonic lift-dependent drag due to boundary layer of plane, symmetrical section wings. 66032

Description
ESDU 66032 provides a means of estimating the lift-dependent drag arising from the presence of a boundary layer on plane wings with symmetrical sections. The lift-dependent drag factor is presented as a function of thickness/chord ratio and a parameter characterising the viscous effects and based on lift-curve slope. The data apply for lift coefficients below a particular value, given in a second figure as a function of the same two parameters. The data were derived from correlations of test data for plane wings and wing-body combinations having symmetrical sections for Mach numbers below the critical.
