IHS ESDU General guide to the choice of journal bearing type. 65007

Description
ESDU 65007 provides a guide in the early stages of design to the choice of the type of journal bearing that is most likely to give the required performance. It is emphasised that general guidance only is provided and, in particular cases, other considerations may affect the final choice. When the type of bearing has been chosen (from the types considered, namely, dry rubbing, hydrodynamic, hydrostatic, oil impregnated porous metal, and rolling element) other data, or manufacturer's information where appropriate, must be used for the final design.
