ESDU 11004 evaluates the effects of water contaminated runways on the decelerating forces for a set of undercarriage wheels distributed in an array of line-astern and line-abreast arrangements. The model is empirical in nature and based on limited experimental evidence, but adequately describes the data from which it is derived. The Item is a companion to ESDU 10015 which provides a full model for the performance of a single aircraft tyre rolling or braking on dry and precipitate contaminated runways.
