IHS ESDU Full-potential method for three-dimensional wings and wing-body combinations - inviscid flow. Part 3: Method with improved estimates of body lift and drag contributions (FPIBE). 06015

Description
This is Part 3 of a series dealing with the computational fluid dynamics program FP. Parts 1 and 2 of the series deal respectively with the principles of FP and the practical aspects of running FP and its associated programs on a PC. This Item, Part 3 in the series, presents FPIBE, which is a variant of theoriginal program. For a wing-body combination, FPIBE provides improved estimates of lift and drag contributions of the body as compared with the original program, FP. For a wing-alone, there are no differences in the results produced by FP and FPIBE. The Item presents results for a number example flows, and gives comparisons for overall lift and drag coefficients obtained from FP, FPIBE and the post-processing programs of Part 4.
