The various types of ESDU computer programs are introduced in this Item. ESDU computer programs fall into two categories, Fortran codes, both source and compiled, that are known as ESDUpacs, and executable programs of various types that run within or include a 'user-friendly' interface that are generically known as VIEWpacs.
