In applications where it is not possible to use flow sensors with integrated evaluation, sensors are used with evaluation units. Examples include hazardous areas, confined spaces or if flow values are to be indicated in a decentralised manner. Sensors with ceramic housing can be used in aggressive media.,The product range comprises evaluation units for control cabinet installation or local mounting. Depending on the unit, it is possible to monitor flow, temperature and/or wire break. The SF5200 flow monitor from ifm has a measuring range of 0.1-9.8 ft/s (3-300 cm/s) liquids/ 6.5-98 ft/s (200-3,000 cm/s) gases with a temperature range of -25-80 °C at a pressure rating of 300 bar. By means of the common M12 connector, the SF5200 flow sensor can be reliably connected to the evaluation unit. Thanks to the variable process connection (internal M18 x 1.5 thread for adapter), the SF5200 flow sensor can easily be integrated in the application. The high protection rating IP67 ensures reliable flow monitoring, for example in cooling circuits on machine tools.
