The HSX-10 is a semi-rigid, medium-wall Teflon tubing with a shrink ratio of 1.5:1, designed for high thermal and challenging environmental applications. It offers excellent electrical insulation, chemical resistance, and a wide operating temperature range, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 500¬8F (260¬8C). The tubing requires a heat gun with a maximum temperature of 750¬8F (400¬8C) for proper application, with less than 10% longitudinal shrinkage. Caution is advised during the heat shrinking process to avoid damage to heat-sensitive components. The product is available in standard lengths of 4 feet and is suitable for various applications requiring durability and reliability.
Teflon tubing is primarily for use in high thermal and difficult environmental applications, or where a low coefficient of friction is required. Teflon provides excellent electrical insulation and has excellent chemical and solvent resistance. Teflon has the widest temperature range, best dielectric and corrosion resistant properties of all ProFIT tubings.
Temperatures in excess of 675°F (357°C) for any prolonged period will cause physical changes, noted by a chalky appearance on the Teflon surface. Proper shrinking can be observed as the material turns from translucent to clear or transparent. A 750°F heat gun is recommended for proper application; longitudinal shrinkage is less than 10%.
