On-Line Color-Trend Monitoring System ColorTrend® HT is a low-cost process monitoring instrument that is used to monitor color changes for such products as cereal, chemicals, cookies, crackers, crushed stone, fertilizer, fiberboard, industrial minerals and roofing granules. Positioned anywhere between 5 cm to 15 cm away from the moving product, ColorTrend HT measures color, yet does not come in contact with your product or interfere with your process. It is a rugged, cost-effective tool for continuously measuring and reporting trends in product color and, if desired, height. In order to quantify color, ColorTrend HT reports data using globally accepted color scales. These scales simulate the process of human vision. For example the L*, a*, b* scale measures color by quantifying the degree of light to dark (L*), red to green (a*) and yellow to blue (b*). Consequently, we can say that the ColorTrend HT measures a product's color as the human eye sees it, but is more consistent and repeatable. The ColorTrend HT System consists of a sensor, a support unit, and various interface options. These include analog outputs, connection to a PC, hand-held operator terminal and fixed terminal that is built into the cover of the support unit.
