Houghton’s Rust Veto® line of fluid rust preventatives suits a range of needs in steel mills. Houghton’s Rust Veto rust preventives accommodate a broad range of steel mill requirements. Rust Veto 344 provides good resistance to cracking when exposed to long periods of outdoor storage. Rust Veto 2212 is an all-synthetic aqueous product that has the features of a non-nitrited chemical rust inhibitor. Rust Veto 4214 is exceptionally stable in wet conditions, particularly where there is alkaline, acid or solvent emulsion rinse water left on the metal surface. Rust Veto 342 leaves a waxy dry film that protects iron and steel for lengthy storage indoors and outdoors. Rust Veto 344 provides even greater outdoor storage protection, covering the metal in a hard .003” black tough plastic film. The newest Rust Veto product, Rust Veto 210-C displaces and separates water, offering up to one year of indoor rust protection.
