The Electrocorder EC-1V is a single-phase AC voltage logger designed for monitoring voltage variations up to 300Vac (live/hot to neutral). It features a memory capacity of 32,000 true RMS values, allowing for continuous recording for up to 300 days, depending on the selected averaging period, which can range from 1 second to 60 minutes. The device is accurate to ±1% of reading plus 1 Volt within the range of 90 to 260Vac, and it records average, maximum, and minimum voltage values during the logging period. The logger is sealed to IP65/NEMA 12/4 standards, making it suitable for various environmental conditions. It operates using mains power with a backup battery that can last up to 7000 hours when unplugged. Data is stored in non-volatile memory and can be uploaded to a PC via an RS-232 serial connection using the included Electrosoft software, which allows for data analysis and management. The EC-1V is particularly advantageous due to its constant sampling technique, capturing 16 samples per cycle, which ensures comprehensive data collection compared to competitors that may only take single readings. This feature is beneficial for voltage optimization and pre/post-installation analysis. The kit includes the logger, voltage lead, RS-232 serial lead, Electrosoft software, and a carry case.
The EC-1V data logger is widely used to monitor voltage variations on site, allowing voltage problems to be highlighted quickly for further investigation using traditional recorders.
When recording the Electrocorder will store the average voltage over the period chosen (1 sec to 60 min), it will also record the highest (max) & lowest (min) cycle values during that period.
Why is the Electrocorder better than other similarly priced competitors? The Electrocorder range uses a constant sampling technique, unlike the single reading of competitors. When the loggers start to record, they sample every channel 16 times per cycle, a cycle is 16ms at 60Hz and 20ms at 50Hz. At the end of each averaging period, 3 quantities are saved for each channel, the True RMS average, the Max, which is the highest cycle value during the period and the Min, lowest cycle value. This means that it will record all the peaks and troughs which are one cycle or longer.
