Description
The acrylic cylinders are designed to have maximum operating pressure rating between 100psi (6.9bar) and 200psi (13.8bar). The acrylic cylinder rests on a solid, circular base also designed for heavy loading. All chambers include sample caps, pedestals, porous stones, and O-rings. Anodized aluminum sample caps have two drain ports and a groove for sealing latex membranes with O-rings. The pedestals have flow-through lines and are keyed to prevent turning and pinching the tubing during set up. All aluminum parts are anodized for corrosion protection. Whitey™ zero-volume change valves and Swagelock™ fittings are brass. Add “S” suffix to model numbers when ordering to specify units equipped with stainless steel valves and fittings. Other sizes are available upon request. Options for 250psi (17.2bar) high-pressure chambers and configuration for Resilient Modulus testing are available, inquire. Triaxial Test Chambers have precision-ground and polished stainless steel load piston designed for very low breakaway friction. The shaft is guided through linear ball bearings and sealed with an internally lubed U-cup. A piston lock and dial indicator bracket are supplied with these units. Triaxial chambers can also be used for flexible wall permeability testing applications. HMA-519 chamber allows triaxial testing of both soils and asphalt samples up to 6in (152mm) diameter and 12in (305mm) in height. Flexible all Permeability Test Chambers have similar construction, but are not equipped with a loading piston. Optional HMA-515 Adapter Set allows the HMA-514 Permeability Chamber to be used to test 4in (102mm) diameter samples.
