The Micron Air Jet Sieve® is an updated, USA-made redesign of the time-proven Alpine Air-Jet Siever. Working components have changed little, but are now mounted in a newly-designed housing with electronic digital controls. The air jet method is an effective single-sieve system for dry powders from No.4 to 5um. Air moves through a slowly-rotating slotted nozzle to gently fluidize the sample in a 200mm diameter sieve. Exit air flow carries undersize particles downward to a collection canister. Multiple particle sizes are determined by starting with the finest sieve. Retained sample is then transferred to the next larger sieve size. Air jet action is gentle, effective, and especially useful for fragile or low specific gravity materials. Test times vary, but are typically one to five minutes for a 510g sample, or up to five to ten minutes for fine micron sizes. Digital timer and vacuum controls assure reproducibility of results. Sieves are ordered separately by mesh sizes required. Sieves are constructed with stainless steel frame and mesh, and are supplied with sealing gaskets. The Cyclone Collector is an alternate means of collecting undersize sieve fractions efficiently. A Multi-Sieve Adapter Assembly that accommodates one to three special 83mm diameter sieves is optionally available. Inquire. The Micron Air Jet Sieve® consists of the base unit with a Plexiglas lid, slotted brass air nozzle, electronic controls with a built-in electronic timer and vacuum displays. The cast aluminum Air Jet housing has an attractive baked enamel finish. The timer has memory for up to nine preset test times. The Siever is connected to a separate low-noise vacuum power system with 1-1/2hp motor and epoxy-lined steel filter canister with 4gal (15L) recoverable capacity.
