Basic LCD Monitor Kit Tailored to Your Needs General Digital™ offers the Impact™ as a technology facilitator. In its native form, it is intentionally designed as the most basic turnkey monitor General Digital™ can produce. Unlike many of our other LCD monitor offerings, the Impact™ is comprised of the bare necessities and does not include features such as a protective enclosure, thermal management, etc. This display kit is intended to offer you, our OEM customers, with a low cost, turnkey product that can be easily integrated into your existing products, consoles, protective enclosures or kiosks. You may be required to contribute engineering content to your final installation to address issues of EMI, heat or safety. Additionally, the Impact™ CM Series has been uniquely designed to satisfy the needs of System Integrators / VARs and OEMs / End Users alike. General Digital™ has achieved this lofty goal by designing the Impact™ with elegant simplicity, modular adaptability and cost sensitivity. AMTFT LCD Screens General Digital™ integrates the latest advances in LCD display technology in virtually any size you require. Our stock offering sizes range from 6.4" to 24.0" (diagonal viewing area). These panels provide the equivalent viewing area of much larger CRTs. All of our active matrix TFT LCD panels offer up to 16.7 million colors, wide viewing angles, and fast response times (suitable for live video). We qualify multiple sources of supply to ensure product availability and long life. Video Support All standard Impact™ units support interlaced and non-interlaced analog video (Separate, Composite, Sync-on-Green). Support for STANAG 3350 A, B and C Analog SoG video is also included as a standard feature. In addition, they can be optionally configured to support analog, digital and integrated video (DVI-A, DVI-D, DVI-I), as well as serial digital interface (HD-SDI, SD-SDI) video. Live Video Support The Impact™ Monitor Kit is configured to support NTSC, PAL, RS-170, and SECAM video in composite video or S-video format. The response time of the active matrix TFT makes it the ideal platform for live video input. High Performance LCD Controller The Impact™ is configured with an LCD video controller that converts analog video signals into the proper signals required to drive the LCD panel of choice. General Digital™ offers LCD video controllers capable of supporting both analog and digital LCD displays. It is the LCD video controller that enables the LCD monitor to function as a direct replacement for the traditional CRT. The controller provides intuitive operation of its controls and calibration through the use of a pushbutton or membrane calibration pad and a series of on-screen menus. All models support the following display image controls: auto and manual setup, brightness, contrast, horizontal position, vertical position, tuning, size, individual RGB adjust, image expansion on/off, system information, and signal level. Advanced features are supported on a selective basis (image rotate and invert, audio controls, advanced scaling). Protective, Versatile Electronics Frame/Enclosure The Impact’s™ lightweight but sturdy metal mounting frame / enclosure has been optimized to reduce cost, protect the monitor’s electronics and facilitate a variety of mounting schemes. This inherent flexibility permits Integrators and VARs to quickly and easily design and manufacture their end-products around our fully functional, display module. Additionally, the Impact™ CM Series is designed with the intent to meet FCC Class A and UL Certification. General Digital™ offers a variety of bezels and enclosures to transform the modular Impact™ CM Series into a standalone, panel mount or rack mount device.
