Electro Standards Laboratories Automatic Fallback A/B Switch Model 4123

Description
The PathWay® Model 4123 Automatic Sensing Network Switch with Remote Serial control provides a powerful and versatile tool to manage switching requirements. The system affords local and remote access functionality. Remote access can be accomplished by RS-232 commands sent via the Remote Serial Port. Users can remotely monitor status and control switch functions. The Model 4123 AB switch allows a device connected to the Common port to connect through to the port with activity either on A or B. It maintains the connection with the currently connected port as long as there is activity on it. The unit monitors data activity on both port A and B. If activity on the currently connected port is lost, and if the other port has established valid activity, the unit automatically switches to that port with activity. It will stay connected to the current port if neither of the ports has activity. Then if data activity is detected on a port, the unit will automatically switch to that port. The Model 4123 network switch has a Remote RS232 serial port that permits off-site monitoring and/or management of the switch. The off-site operator can monitor the operation mode, auto-sensing of A/B, the switch position, change the mode or switch position, and lockout the front panel pushbutton operation.
