Originally designed for photographic use, Kodak WRATTEN Filters have also become a popular choice for a wide variety of industrial applications. These filters are used to reduce light intensity across the visible spectrum without altering the spectral profile. These filters are manufactured by dissolving colloidal carbon with specialized dyes in a gelatin material to achieve a desired neutral density performance. The gelatin liquid and dye combination is then coated onto a supportive substrate until it has dried. After removal from the substrate, the film is coated with lacquer for protection. Although the filters are coated, they should be handled only by the edges or in the corner to avoid damage. Please note that storage in humid environments can cause the filters to cloud and temperatures should not exceed 50°C for extended periods. All filters are 0.1mm thick.
