Variable Density Beamsplitter Variable Neutral Density Use Two to Control Optical Transmission Design Wavelength of 400 - 700nm Density Neutrality of +/-5% The density (and film thickness) of these continuously variable neutral density filters varies linearly across each filters length. This is an excellent instrument for precise adjustments of spectrophotometers, monochromators, lasers, etc. Variable density beamsplitters may be used two at a time to control transmission of an optical beam up to 1" in diameter. The units are moved differentially to produce a smooth variation in the energy being transmitted.
