Stud welding of bolts with its variety of individual applications is a widespread technology in all different fields of metal processing. Brand-new and a version of the stud welding process is Nelson TARC welding. TARC welding offers the possibility to weld non rotationsymmetric components in one step on the base material. The weldability and geometry of each component will be checked in advance and individually by our applications engineering. A Nelson TARC welding system consists of a power source, a welding head and a TARC feeder for the correct positional arrangement of the component. This configuration is extremely flexible and based on devices of the latest Nelson technology. A robot moves the welding head, which controls the handling of the component and the TARC welding process itself. The component is welded frontally on the base material different from spot welding. This reduces the weight of the total assembly group and saves costs of material. The quality of the TARC welding gets monitored by a process control integrated in the power source
