KSSG1-40J17 is a module 1, 40-tooth ground spur gear with a 17 mm bore and J-series precision. It has a pitch diameter of 40 mm, outside diameter of 42 mm, face width of 10 mm, hub width of 18 mm, and total length of 42 mm. The gear is made of S45C steel with induction-hardened tooth surfaces at 50-60 HRC, and has a 20° pressure angle with standard full-depth teeth. Allowable torque is 9.83 N·m (1.00 kgf·m) and backlash is 0.08-0.16 mm. The J-series precision grade is equivalent to JIS B1702-1:1998 grade N7. A set screw and keyway (5.5 mm width × 4 mm depth) are included.
